How much does it cost?

How much does being a Scout member cost?
"Scouting should be an affordable way of providing exciting and adventurous activities for young people." Quote from the Scout Association.

Costs can vary between Groups and cover the regular meeting costs, insurance, materials etc. Subscription fees could be weekly, monthly or termly and some use direct debits. There may also be extra charges for special activities such as camps and events. Each Group/Unit try to keep their costs as low as possible so anyone can join the Scouts. If you’re concerned about the cost, do speak to the leader in confidence; there may be assistance available.
There is a Hardship Policy operated within the District and a copy can be found HERE.

Ask your Section Leader or Group/Unit Treasurer about the exact cost.
